This piece explores the formal references to the music video, poetic experimentation, precarious authorship, and home recording; based on the notion of loss/abandonment, the searching/finding, and the interstices that end in nothingness. The sequences of uncertain aesthetic messages eventualy are capable of evoking narrative discourses of a possible history or signs that unveil this writing from self-referential and biographical experiences.

HD color/black and white video, 8’20”.

In 2016, after 20 years without returning to Antofagasta, the city where the artist grew up in the ‘80s and the early ‘90s in Chile, different places and surroundings of the city are recognized by recording, through an exercise of memory, ambiguous visions and transitions related to the daily life of children and teenagers during the dictatorship. The places of the journey included the neighborhoods where the artist lived, landscapes of vacations and walks, which, in their final editions, are presented with a sound composition that recalls the trauma contained in these memories.

The work was showcased within the self-curated exhibition Astrolab at the SACO Contemporary Art Biennial [Antofagasta, Chile] in August 2016, and it participated in the 8th Regional Show of Contemporary Art at the MAM, Museo de Arte Moderno de Chiloé [Castro, Chile] in November and December 2016.
