PASSAGE AND LOSS

2009

Video installation, object and sound intervention. Two videos in loop, covers and blankets, cardboard boxes, trash bags, blue light tube, audio player and amplifier. In variable dimensions.

The speed of travel through city streets today transforms their landscapes into a collection of fragmented settings and events. Despite this, we pass through them without any inconvenience. In this sense, Angie Saiz records in a very ambiguous way, passages of a strange journey: from her home to the museum, and as a cruel souvenir of this lost journey, the artist also carries with her one of the many images that make up the fragmented panorama of downtown Santiago, a covered and concealed image that reveals the misery of art and the city: indifference.
